Sound – a key part of major investments at internationally acclaimed golf course

The internationally acclaimed golf club Österåkers Golfklubb with its new golf course, Öster by Stenson, designed by Henrik Stenson, is in the process of major strategic investments in the surroundings and thus also investments in the sound experience. The club has installed the Swedish speaker manufacturer Audio Pro Business sound system both outdoors and indoors.


Österåkers Golfklubb, situated some thirty kilometers northeast of Stockholm, is a club that in recent years has done major investments in its golf courses, including letting internationally well-known golfer Henrik Stenson, through his own design company HSGD, design a course, named Öster by Stenson, which during 2020 was nominated for “The World's Best New Golf Course 2020. The strategic investment has put a focus on the overall experience for visitors, which also includes sound and light. "Music is of course essential in this holistic experience we are trying to create for our visitors," says Andreas Ljunggren, CEO at Österåkers Golfklubb.


“Many golf players visit our restaurant, The Lake House, which is beautifully located by a lake, when they need a break after the 9th and 18th holes. But we also have many visitors having dinner in the evening in this lovely south facing location. We want to be able to offer them an environment that gives a certain feeling, and music is an important component in creating this specific feeling,” explains Andreas Ljunggren. The reason that they chose Audio Pro Business speaker systems was not only due to the fact that they were stylish and good-sounding products, but mainly the user-friendliness these offers. “We are amazed at how easy it is to click the speakers into the rails in the ceiling. It provides a unique user-friendliness, different from other systems,” explains Andreas Ljunggren. "We have tried other speaker systems, for example in the clubhouse, but we plan to shift to Audio Pro's speaker system here as well."


Jens Henriksen, CCO at Audio Pro, is very pleased with Österåker's choice of sound system; “We are of course very happy to be a part of such an acclaimed golf club's investment plans. An expanding club with a long-term strategy that include the entire experience, clearly demonstrates how important the sound experience is in all environments.” Speakers are installed both indoors and outdoors at the restaurant, and eventually the sound system from Audio Pro will be available at the clubhouse, driving ranges and padel courts.


The club's grand investments in the surroundings will continue. In the coming years Österåker will continue its investments in enhancing the visitor experience, and most likely this will receive international attention as well.
