Sustainability – key factor when Swedish sports chain chooses their speaker system

In its quest to find a more sustainable solution for store sound, the Swedish sports chain Stadium has chosen Audio Pro as supplier of speaker systems for all store profiles in the chain's store portfolio.


Stadium, Sweden's largest sports and sports fashion chain with approximately 180 stores in Sweden, Finland and Norway, is constantly working on sustainability issues. Sustainability is part of the chain's business strategy, and hence also affects the choice of subcontractors. When choosing the supplier of speaker systems, it became obvious that Audio Pro Business, with its flexible system, would be a perfect match for Stadium.


"We had tried wired systems in the past, and we were pleasantly surprised to see that Swedish Audio Pro could offer a completely new way of spreading good sound in a store environment in a way that this industry normally wouldn’t apply" says Karl Eklöf, CEO of Stadium. Audio Pro Business wireless speakers are quick and easy to mount directly into the existing lighting rails in the ceiling, meaning that the personnel of the store themselves can move around the speakers as needed when the interior is changed. Karl Eklöf continues: “The fact that we can change the location of the speakers both within the store, and also even to a different store area if needed, must be the most environmentally friendly choice in comparison with fixed speakers, which of course can’t offer the same flexibility, and even might have to be discarded when the layout of the store changes.”


Karl Eklöf emphasizes; “However, you can’t look at the environmental aspect alone, when choosing a supplier. Of course we have to have good sound from the speakers we choose as well. But I can assure you that it sounds fantastic based on what it actually costs. You get undeniably value for money. It sounds even better than what our old wired system was able to deliver. Cost is kept at a minimum due to installation time is extremely short, in comparison to old, fixed systems when you have to install power cables. A very short installation time and cost efficiency together with a focus on sustainability is of course a winning combination.”

At the entrance, however, you probably would like to play a little bit louder to welcome the customer with some inviting music. We have learned that the flexibility of providing different volume zones is something that also played a key part in Stadium's decision making process.
